Backend Software Engineer
Build and maintain the Django backend that powers our HR & payroll platform for companies across the Philippines.
About the role
HR & OMS is a multi-tenant HR, payroll and workforce management platform used by companies across the Philippines. We're growing our engineering team in Lapu-Lapu City and are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help us build reliable, secure features that real HR and payroll teams depend on every payday.
What you will do
- Design and build Django REST/async views, models and background jobs for payroll, attendance, leave and recruitment modules.
- Write and maintain PostgreSQL schemas and migrations for a multi-tenant system with row-level security.
- Work with our .NET services team on the API boundary between Django and our employee-records service.
- Debug and fix production issues, with an emphasis on payroll correctness and data integrity.
- Write tests and review pull requests from teammates.
What we are looking for
- 2+ years professional experience with Python and Django (or a similar web framework).
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL, ideally PostgreSQL.
- Comfortable reading and writing REST APIs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
